Was Old Roblox Better? (Part 1: Common arguments)
The age old question, thousands going to John Shedletsky's promotional Roblox videos and screaming "Old roblox was better!". Several voices seemingly unheard by Roblox themselves.
Do they care?
Are they ignoring us?
Was it really better?
Common arguments
- There was TIX
- There were no ODers (Online daters)
- There were no "Slenders"
TIX wasn't even welcomed at first
Here's the thing, yes, TIX existed, but let's go back to before TIX was added. There was just Robux, and only Robux, and it was obtained in much of the same way as TIX. But then, TIX! TIX wasn't even a welcomed change when it was first added! At the same time they also implemented Builders Club, and there was NO currency exchange at the start.
So you now had a paid only currency, which used to be a free, and a new currency which is free but can only be used on some catalog items, with NO conversion method!
TIX would be more useless than ever now than ever before
You see, TIX would be extremely useless today. Back when TIX was removed, the economy was A LOT more restrictive. The only possible way to make Robux for free was group payouts. Today, you can now make your own clothing and you no longer have paid restrictions besides trading. You CAN make Robux, by yourself, for free, right now. You COULDN'T for the majority of the time TIX was around. You probably would have made less Robux using TIX back then than you would have selling clothing and game passes today.
There WERE ODers since the very beginning
Why do people care about Slenders?
Here is something I will probably never understand. One really common argument I hear all the time is that Slenders are bad. Here's the thing though, Slenders are just an avatar choice. Are they referring to the avatar choice, or the demographic that tends to use said avatar choice? I once was playing Taxi Simulator 2 because I was bored, and I mentioned in chat that I thought modern roblox wasn't bad. Two players started screaming at me in the chat and began to ram into my Taxi making it hard for me to play. They began to describe a stereotype of slender avatars which they explained it almost like that's how everybody who uses slenders is like.
Here is my question though:
Why does it matter, how is it affecting you that badly, why do you care, I genuinely don't understand.
